Reviews about Queen Elizabeth University Hospital

The hospital is beautiful, modern and clean, though stepping through the doors it felt more like an airport or shopping centre than a hospital. Upon entry we were directed to a machine in the corner to confirm that we had arrived. It directed us to the department we needed to be in. Unfortunately, it seems the systems do not communicate with the departments and after waiting for over an hour a receptionist came over and asked who we were. It seems they had no idea we had arrived and so we'd missed our appointment. Fortunately, after another hour waiting we were able to see the doctor. Unfortunately, we then had to wait for another hour for a nurse to take a blood sample. If they can ever get it functioning as beautifully as it looks, it'll be a five star medical facility, but it's not there yet.

As usual- the NHS is let down by some specific individuals- such as one member of staff who I had to deal with at the hospital pharmacy. It would be really more helpful to talk to staff that can provide you with useful information as opposed to someone continually repeating inaccuracies. When it comes to prescribed drugs- there is no grey area. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. If you want to contact me for more info. I'd be happy to dicuss further

The doctor's advice could've lead me to a paracetamol overdose (7g daily). Refused to give me any tranquiliser or painkiller despite shock, anxiety and painful injury (I could barely walk). Hasn't even left any prescription or instructions on paper. The stitches he used broke as soon as I tried to walk. One of the receptionists' attitude was basically rude. She pretended to be a medicine expert and eventually refused to talk to me, even though I was explaining my points in a very calm way and it was nothing to do with her. Fortunately, the other receptionist was very kind and even asked me if I wanted to talk to the doctor once again. I decided it wasn't worth it as I had enough stress that night and i could count on my GP but still, I was very grateful for his kind service and sorry to make him upset. The ambulence staff deserve a great praise as well
